Hi! We’re Aram and Mar, the human side of this website. Glad you’re here.
We’re not high-tech engineers or developers. We’re just two people with a bit of experience in the digital world and a lot of questions about life with robots.
Mar Yvette is an established lifestyle journalist and editor with 20+ years working for major media outlets while Aram Brazilian has spent his career in tech, focusing on user experience and product development for some of the world’s biggest brands.
Our mission: To think through what it really means to live with robots and help others feel a little more ready for whatever’s coming next.
On one hand, we grew up watching reruns of “The Jetsons” where Rosey the Robot embodied the fun, helpful future we all wanted — along with android extraordinaire Data from “Star Trek.”
On the other hand, we also grew up with movies like “The Terminator,” which gave us a glimpse of a darker, more dystopian possibility. (Fellow Gen Xers know what we’re talking about.)

Now that life with robots is finally within reach, the future feels … like a mixed bag. And truthfully, one of us is more ready than the other to welcome robots into our daily lives.
Why We Started This Site
Like it or not, robots have arrived, and they’re not going away. That means we have a choice: keep an open mind, adapt, and learn … or risk getting left behind.
That’s what Robots Good or Bad is about.
We’re here to talk honestly about what life with robots might look like, asking questions that are already on a lot of our minds, and looking for answers that help us move forward at a pace that feels right.
We’ve come to realize that robots aren’t just good or bad, and Robot Readiness isn’t a fixed feeling. It’s fluid. Some days you might feel enthusiastic. Other days, uncertain and hesitant.
That insight became the foundation for everything else we’ve built here. That’s why we created a Robot Readiness spectrum showcasing six sentiments to help you explore where you are in the journey:
Robot Enthusiast — You’re excited about robots and eager to bring them into everyday life
- Robot Practical — You’re open to robots if they clearly save time, money, or effort
Robot Curious — You’re intrigued, but still figuring out what role robots might play
Robot Hesitant — You have real concerns and need convincing before taking the leap
Robot Phobic — Robots make you uneasy or anxious, even when others seem excited
Robot Hater — You actively resist robots and question whether they belong in society at all
This spectrum isn’t about labels. It’s a tool to help you understand your own comfort level and explore what might move you forward (or not).
Wherever you land, you’ll find stories, insights, and useful content that speaks to your mindset.
Enthusiast, Hater, or Somewhere in Between? We Feel You
We know that life with robots means something different for everyone. It could be help around the house, support for an aging parent, or simply entertainment.
It also means confronting real concerns about privacy, control, and how strange a lot of this feels.
It can be scary, but we’re staying optimistic for now.
When we started talking about robots more earnestly with others, one thing became clear: people feel a lot of different ways about them.
For us, we’re both working adults without kids, so we’re curious about robots that might help with chores, handle daily tasks, and keep an eye on things while we travel.
That kind of help will only become more important as we get older, so it’s best to get comfortable with the idea of life with robots now.
Our Real-Life Goals (and Challenges)
The big question we’re trying to answer for ourselves is:
What’s our future going to look like as a child-free couple heading toward our later years, and how will robots help us (and our parents) as we age?
Whether you’re thinking about getting older, your parents getting older, or just reclaiming some time for yourself, robots might have a role to play.
Why We’re Mostly Hopeful About Life With Robots
Just like the internet and smartphones changed how we live, robots will too.
While the idea of Rosey the Robot becoming a reality is exciting, we’re not looking through completely rosey-colored glasses.
(See what we did there?)
The reality of robots taking over jobs among other things isn’t just sci-fi. Privacy, surveillance, and trust in AI are real concerns, and we definitely don’t have all the answers.
But we believe it’s possible to adapt, ask difficult questions, and still stay hopeful.
Our professional backgrounds have shaped how we think about technology not in abstract terms, but in the context of daily life. That lens helps us explore what robots might actually mean for how we live, work, and connect with each other.
What You’ll Find on This Site
Robots Good or Bad is a space for exploring the big questions.

What does it really mean to live with robots?
How do you know if you’re ready for a robot?
What kind of support or connection are we actually looking for?
What are the emotional, ethical, and financial costs of all this “progress”?
There will be doubts. (We know, we have them.) But we’re not here to sell you on anything. We’re just here to make sense of these AI-powered machines that are already transforming our society.
Join the Adventure …
Whether you think robots are good, bad, or somewhere in between, this site is here to explore it all.
So stick around and let’s see what life with robots might actually look like.
We know we’re not the only ones thinking about this stuff, so we’d love to hear what you’re thinking too. You can leave comments, check out our Robot Readiness research findings, and share your take through our polls, surveys, or just shooting us an email.
Who knows? Maybe someday our robots can have a playdate with yours. Or maybe we’ll meet you in an underground bunker to eat canned food and reminisce about the good old days before the robot apocalypse. (Hopefully not.)
One thing’s for sure: we’re all gonna have to figure this out together.
